“I will prioritize border security and the American taxpayer”
(Fort Worth) – Today, conservative Republican State Representative Craig Goldman announced his candidacy for Congress in CD 12, where incumbent Republican Kay Granger has announced she will not be seeking another term.
“I’m incredibly honored and humbled by the number of people who have urged me to run. My record proves I will be a conservative fighter who will prioritize border security and the American taxpayer, and I am excited to announce I am all in to serve the people of Tarrant and Parker counties as their next Congressman.”
A small businessman and 4th generation Fort Worth native, Goldman has a long record of authoring and working to pass sweeping conservative legislation that has made Texas the national model for conservative governance. He has worked to secure historic funding and boots on the ground to secure the Texas border, reduce property taxes, defend the Second Amendment, protect the unborn, ensure religious freedoms, and fight radical efforts to defund the police.
In announcing his candidacy Goldman said, “I have a proven record of passing bold, conservative legislation that has prioritized border security and the economy because on both fronts, the Biden Administration has failed miserably. Here in Texas we are doing our job, but the Biden administration is working against us at every turn; that must change, and I’m ready to fight for that change.
“I worked to pass the largest property tax cut in Texas history, because as a small businessman, I understand I work for taxpayers who desperately need relief from Joe Biden’s disastrous economic policies, including record inflation that is crushing family budgets. We must implement fiscal sanity and force Washington, D.C., to get their economic house in order.”
While serving as Chair of the Texas House Energy Resources Committee, Goldman has worked to strengthen the Texas oil and gas industry, a bedrock of the state’s economy. He has prioritized public safety, passing Molly Jane’s Law, a measure designed to help law enforcement better track sexual assaults. Additionally, he authored a bill aimed at halting “Defund the Police” efforts.
